Gene and JulieGene & Julie are a happily married couple that is learning how to live and work together without driving each other crazy. Gene carries a purse, loves to cook and could care less about sports. Julie comes home from work, changes her clothes and waits for dinner to be put on the table. Somehow they got their wires crossed– but in the end, it's a match made in heaven because he's her best girlfriend and she's his best buddy.

This energetic duo entertains listeners by laughing at the absurdities of day-to-day life, pop culture and relationships. While they usually look at the world through a ridiculous cartoonish perspective, Gene & Julie also have tremendous respect for each other and the world around them. Their audience plays along with this down-to-earth pair and gets passionately involved in their many service projects. Gene & Julie's passion in life is to bring out the best in everyone they meet. They gave birth to their first baby in December of 2004 and they are enjoying the adventures of parenthood.

Naturally, everyone wants to know, "How do Gene & Julie spend all that time together without driving each other crazy?" We can answer that question with one word: THERAPY! Here's a little more about these nuts:

Gene Gene Gates is a neat freak. He compulsively straightens grocery store shelves. He just can't help it. He's also a food snob and carries his own salt with him everywhere he goes (check for yourself... it's always in his man-purse!). Gene was raised in a small town of 356 people where he was a volunteer firefighter and mowed Mrs.Townsend's lawn every week. He's a Type-A, driven person... he graduated early from high school and was valedictorian at his broadcasting school. He even got all his Webelo badges. Gene jokes he's easy to get along with, as long as he gets his way.

JulieJulie (Jacobson) Gates was voted the "Happiest Girl" in her high school senior class. Although she fancies herself as being highly organized, Julie is a complete slob. She grew-up in the suburbs and attended a private university. She was even president of her sorority (Pi Beta Phi) and a college cheerleader. You can't really hate her because she's so darn nice... plus, you gotta give her some slack for putting-up with Gene on a daily basis.

Sophia Sophia. So here is their darling daughter Sophia. She was born December 1, 2004. She is very tall for her age, so people always think she is older. She loves Dora and Handy Manny, and she also loves trips to the mall to ride the carousel, and running at the park. She is in the process of transitioning her from the crib to the "big girl bed," but it is going slowly. Julie says, "She wants to sleep with us every night, HELP!" Any advice is appreciated. WeddingGene & Julie met in their hometown of Seattle while pursuing individual radio careers. Once they met it was love-at-first-sight and they decided to become a team. In December of 1999 they eloped and got married in the middle of Grand Central Station in New York City.  The NY Times was so taken with them they actually wrote a story about their wedding! Their radio career has taken them to many of America's most exciting cities including the Metroplex, Los Angeles, Atlanta and San Francisco. Gene & Julie have garnered massive national attention, too. They have been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, Nightline with Ted Koppel and in the New York Times. Currently, they are in the process of publishing a book on how to work with one's spouse and they have written a monthly relationships column for JEZEBEL Magazine.
